Join thousands of athletes swim, bike and run around the stunning Lake Wanaka region on Saturday 19th January 2013.
Challenge Wanaka is the world’s most scenic iron distance triathlon, swimming (3.8km) in the clear waters of Lake Wanaka, cycling (180km) beyond Glendhu Bay, on to Lake Hawea township and return via Luggate, and running (42.2km) on the picturesque Clutha River Outlet Track with 75% off road. The finish is in the heart of Wanaka with a fantastic finish line party to welcome home the athletes well in to the night. Entries are now open for both individuals and teams.
New Zealand’s largest, the Challenge Wanaka Triathlon Festival has events for everyone: the Lake Wanaka Half (113km) travelling on the same scenic course as the iron distance triathletes, at half the distance, the Puzzling World Junior Challenge Wanaka, a fun run, swim the course and the national Contact Tri Series.
