About Sportsworld & the Five Mile:   Sportsworld Running Club have pleasure in announcing the inaugural Terenure 5 Mile road race which will take place on Sunday May 13th 2012 at 11AM. Building on 28 years of experience. Formally know as the “Dublin 5 Mile Classic” , this is going to be one of the most enjoyable races on the 2012 calendar on a new faster 2 lap course starting from our new venue in Terenure College, Dublin 6. The course is AAI certified and there will be chip timing and one of the flattest courses around this race is ideal for runners, joggers and walkers alike. A course map with the elevation will be available on the website in mid-January, along with a video of the route. All participants are encouraged to enter Oline, however a downloadable entry form is available on the website which may be sent in by post. Late entries will also be received on the day up to ½ hour before the start. (additional fee €5 applies). This year our chosen charity is Special Olympics Ireland (Eastern Region) and a guaranteed minimum of €5 from each entry will go directly to Special Olympics.
Getting to the race HQ & Start line:   Bus Routes to Terenure College: 15 15B 65 65B 49 49B All stop outside the main gates of the College. 54A Stops at the back gates of the College (Swimming Pool). Directions to Terenure College: From the M50 take the Tallaght Exit and keep to the left slip road. Past the Spawell Pub/Leisure Centre and straight through the roundabout. Straight through next set of traffic lights to Templeogue Village. Travel straight through the village and the next set of traffic lights. Straight through next set of traffic lights and Terenure College is on the left-hand side, opposite Bushy Park. From Terenure Village, take the left fork in the road at Rathdown Motors. This is Templeogue Road. Travel straight up this road. Bushy Park is on your left and Terenure College is directly opposite Bushy Park.
Entry limit of 2 000:   On-line registration will close at 10pm on Friday 11th May 2012. Registration by hand can be made on Saturday 12th May at Terenure College between 1PM and 5PM And on the day of the race (Sunday 13th) up to 10.30am. Additional fee of €5 applies on both days. Race numbers, timing chips and t-shirts may be collected on Saturday at Terenure College between 1PM 5PM or on Sunday morning prior to the race (from 8.30AM). Terenure Directions: Go in the main gate off Templeogue Rd and go left at 1st. junction. Gym is along on the right at rear of large car park.
Parking:   There is parking available inside Terenure College and around Bushy Park. Please do not park in the church carpark.
Past race refreshments:   Sportsworld Running Club will provide complimentary refreshments at the finish and tea/coffee and sandwiches at the prize ceremony, this will make for a great day out.

Baggage:   Runners are advised to come prepared to run. There will be limited baggage facilities at race headquarters, Terenure College, Templeogue Road, Dublin 6W,

Prizes:   The race will have significant individual and team prizes. “FREE Technical T- Shirt to the first 1000 Entries”,complimentary refreshments at the finish and tea/coffee and sandwiches at the prize ceremony, this will make for a great day out
