Event Details:
Information   The 100km Ride for Life is the first of a new annual Charity cycle for Suicide Awareness Ireland. All funds raised will be in aid of Dublin charity S.O.S (Suicide or Survive). SOS do tremendous work through out the Ireland and are not just limited to working in Dublin. It starts and finishes in Ring Commons Sports Centre, Balbriggan.
Directions   From Dublin 1. Follow the M1 motorway north 2. Exit at J5 Balbriggan 3. At the top of the slip road take the 3rd exit right and cross the bridge 4. Go through another roundabout, and at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit towards Balbriggan (the Applegreen petrol station is on your left) 5. You will come to another smaller roundabout, go straight through (take the 2nd exit) still going towards Balbriggan 6. After about 500m turn left. It is a bad bend so you will know you have taken the correct turn 7. Drive straight for 1.5km, crossing the M1 motorway and the sports centre is on your left. From Belfast / Drogheda 1. Exit the M1 motorway at J5 Balbriggan 2. Turn left at the top of the slip road 3. Follow steps 4-7 above
Parking   There will be plenty of parking available in the sports centre. Please follow the advice of the marshals present.
Facilities   There will be changing rooms available with showers for after the race.
Refreshment   There will be hot soup, sandwiches tea & coffee available free of charge in the bar area afterwards.
The route   The cycle is a single loop. We will take in North Dublin, Louth and Meath. Starting in the Sports Centre we will pass through Balbriggan, Gormanston, Julianstown, Drogheda, Slane, Duleek, Ashbourne, Swords, Lusk, Balrothery and back into the Sports Centre.
Additional Info   On the night of the 21st of April, there will be a fundraising night also held in our sponsors Hotel, The City North Hotel, which is only 5 mins from the Sports Centre. The night begins at 8:30pm and has a host of comedians, a band, DJ and a massive raffle with some excellent prizes up for grabs. Entry into this is normally €10 but if you are taking part in the cycle you get the discounted rate of €5. The City North Hotel has kindly sponsored some discounted rooms to cyclists who wish to stay and they are available for €39pps for bed & breakfast. Registration   Registration will begin at 10am sharp so as we can be on the road for 11am.
Fun Run/Walk   On this day there will also be a 7km Fun Run & Walk starting from Ring Commons and doing a single loop back to the Sports Centre. It is a lovely country scenic route that goes out by Walshestown and back to strating point. This is open to anybody, runners, walkers, kids, dogs. Everyone welcome!!
